About Alexander Academy
Located in downtown Vancouver, BC, Alexander Academy is a private school for students in grades 8 – 12. We offer three distinct educational programs and over 45 courses per semester to ensure a tailored learning experience for our students.
With a 1-to-9 teacher-to-student ratio and small class sizes, our teachers are able to provide a safe, caring and international-minded environment that takes advantage of the city’s attractions and cultural diversity.
Our Programs
- BC Dogwood Diploma: Awarded to students who successfully complete the provincial graduation requirements. Each student must acquire 80 credits from a combination of required courses, elective courses and the Graduation Transition program.
- This program is a preparatory program that develops core English language skills within our high school setting. The program consists of four levels that focus on language learning in the context of academic subjects, such as science, social studies, literature, cultural understanding, and communications.
Our ELDP is designed to develop our students’ academic study and participation skills that will ensure their success with the completion of their BC Graduation Diploma. We are committed to a personalized approach that provides students who are learning English with the necessary tools to succeed in the classroom and beyond. - The University Foundation Program: The University Foundation Program is designed for grade 11 and 12 students who require less than 10 credits to graduate. Students who join this program will complete their high school diploma in one academic year, including summer school. If desired, this program also gives students the option to study dual credit courses concurrently at our sister school, Alexander College.

I would like to share my experience about Alexander Academy’s response to the world pandemic crisis.
Personally, I really enjoyed our new way to attend school during this crisis. We got a lot of time to improve our skills and the opportunity to both meet our classmates through video and audio and have personal meetings with our teachers.
I highly value the time I had with the teachers. They always attended classes happily and curious about how to help us with an assignment or other questions. All our teachers have truly been there for all students, right since the beginning.
I am very grateful for having such happy and driven teachers at Alexander Academy, they care about every single individual and want the best for all of us.

“They cared for us as much as our own parents. I am currently studying Commerce at the University of Toronto Mississauga on a full scholarship.” –Class of 2018 Graduate
“I would recommend Alexander Academy to parents and students who are looking for a holistic approach to education. I have developed a strong awareness of social problems on both a local and international level.”– Class of 2017 Graduate
