Parent night at Alexander Academy

Alexander Academy held its annual parent night in October 2023, after an action-packed month of classes and welcoming our new students this fall semester. We invited all parents and custodians to attend this interactive event to get to know our teachers and staff.  

At Alexander Academy, we believe in fostering a strong partnership between parents, custodians, and our school community. We understand the doubts and stress for parents of high school students. To help parents navigate through this, we organize an annual event: “Parent Night. An evening of interaction and transparent communication with the teachers, a sneak peek into their classes & activities and to explore the new campus and its facilities.  

We are happy to share some highlights of this event with you.  

The evening started off with a presentation from the head of school. He shared some important updates, school policies and goals for the upcoming academic year.  

Connecting with teachers:  

One of the most significant aspects of Parent Night at Alexander Academy is the opportunity for parents and custodians to connect with our dedicated teaching staff. Parents had the opportunity to visit our teachers in their classes and to experience what a day in the life of their child looks like. They were able to see the course being taught and the methods the teachers use to engage the students. This direct interaction allowed parents to get to know their child’s educators. Such personal connections are integral in nurturing a supportive learning environment. 

Exploring Classes and Activities: 

In addition to meeting with teachers, Parent Night also provides parents and custodians with an overview of the various other courses and extracurricular activities available at Alexander Academy. This gives parents a glimpse into the broader educational experience their children are receiving. 

Parents have the chance to visit classrooms, view student projects and artwork, and even participate in some classroom activities. This immersive experience allows parents to better understand the curriculum and the quality of education their children are receiving. 

New Campus and Facilities:  

A highlight of this year’s Parent Night was the grand unveiling of our brand-new campus and new facilities that students will get to use. The expansion was a significant milestone for Alexander Academy. It reflects our commitment to providing the best possible environment for student growth and development. 

Parents and custodians had the opportunity to tour the new facilities, including a spacious library, a dedicated space for robotics, drama, media design, a student lounge and all the classrooms. 

Strengthening the School-Home Partnership: 

The primary goal of Parent Night at Alexander Academy is to bridge the gap and allow a collaborative relationship between the school, parent and student. By the end of the evening, parents leave with a deeper understanding of their child’s education. They were able to build a greater connection with the school community. It also gave them confidence that they are part of a team dedicated to their child’s success. 

A night full of meaningful conversations, school highlights and excitement of exploring the new campus filled the air at Alexander Academy. We are looking forward to our parent-teacher conference that will open doors for discussion between parents and teachers about their child’s academic progress & career goals.
