We are currently accepting students for either our September or January intakes.
There are two semesters in an academic school year, as well as five weeks of summer school. We offer up to two courses during summer school.
Course Planning and Registration
Classes start at the beginning of September and the end of January. Summer school runs during the month of July.
Course selection begins at your first interview with our Director of Admissions. Once you have enrolled, you will meet with our school counselor who will finalize your course selection.
You will have four classes each day starting at 8:45 and ending at 3:05. Clubs and extra curriculars run from 3:10 to 4:10 Monday through Thursday.
You may take between 8-10 courses in one year.
Transfer credits are available to students who have taken transferable credits from another high school.
Tuition and Fees
We have a rolling admissions and fees are to be paid according to the dates on the invoice you receive from our Finance department.
Fees are paid online either through Western Union or online through your local bank.
Activity fees include: school wide activities and fieldtrips.

Once you have paid your tuition you will receive a Letter of Acceptance, a welcome package, and then you will be contacted by out counselor to set up your graduation plan.
If your study permit is refused, you will receive back your full tuition minus a $300 CAD administration fee.
Medical Services
Yes, medical coverage is mandatory for both international and Canadian students. All international students are required to purchase private medical insurance as a supplement to the BC Medical Insurance (MSP) that is mandatory for all individuals living in British Columbia. Canadian students can provide us proof of MSP enrollment or private insurance.
We are happy to announce that Alexander Academy has partnered with StudyInsured to take care of our student’s health and wellbeing. By partnering with StudyInsured your child will receive complete coverage and protection for medical needs during their studies in Canada. International students are invoiced for private medical insurance at the time of enrolment. Alexander Academy will enrol your child with StudyInsured and the total cost for this $600 for one academic year. This is a non-refundable fee paid at the time of enrolment. The Ministry of Education also requires that all international students be insured with our provincial medical service plan (MSP). It is the student’s responsibility to enrol with MSP. International students are expected to apply of MSP, and they are invoiced for $75 CAD per month directly.
International students are also required to pay the private insurance fee to Alexander Academy upon enrolment. Students will be invoiced by the school for $600 CAD for one academic school year.
Yes, the new student orientation is mandatory. You will receive an email regarding this event before September or January depending on your start date. You can find more information here:

The school provides professional counselling services that are available for all Alexander Academy students. The counselling sessions are completely confidential and a no judgement zone. Students may set up an appointment with the school counsellor by emailing her at a.sapkota@alexanderacademy.ca.
